How about Tea for Two or Four
Time For Tea
Whether you make a tea party for two or more, it never ceases to amaze me the fun I have preparing for each one. The fancy dishes the frills you add to pretty it up. The ideas are endless.
I have had two tea parties in the last few months one was for my friend Ellen's Birthday. Just a small tea for two to celebrate her birthday and Christmas since we weren't able to get together for a hot minute.
Tea Parties
The second Tea Party for my friend Ellen was so sweet. We had Sandwiches with Flower Sprinkles on them and then we had Crepes with a nice pot of tea. She was so thrilled.
We exchanged gifts. I gave her a handmade gift of a cross stitch. I did make on red fabric with silk floss.
She gifted me flower seeds and a beautiful book on Apothecary recipes since I am doing everything all natural. It is a book that is truly amazing. I love everything about it. I will at one point post a photo of the book.
Now to the second tea party that I had for my sisters, my friend Ellen came with me. So, this was tea for four. However, with these party I upped my game. I did chicken salad sandwiches asparagus wrapped with prosciutto and puffed pastry, and ladybug crostini. They all turned out awesome. In addition to that I made multiple flavored teas, and sparkling soda water with rosebud and butterfly pea flower iced cubes. all decorated with the tea pots and cups and plates and a tier tray for displaying food. My sister was so impressed. We also were celebrating International Women's Day. So, the day was filled with a ton of fun.
I will say that my life has become plot twist after plot twist. I was a nurse who quit to quilt, to leave that industry to become a foodie and to make a huge lifestyle change. There is more to come with that story. I will say making major changes in your life to make it better for you and your family is not easy. there is a lot to factor in when changing your behavior. When you change what you eat how you eat and how much you consume. I can say that my life is far better for the changes I have made. I went to
In September I had what the call a panniculectomy. this is a surgery that removes excess skin that hangs from your tummy, kind of like a tummy tuck but no muscle involved. They took 3 and a half ponds off of me and my tummy is nice and flat plus I lost over 100+ pounds that took almost two years to accomplish. My team of drs tell me I haven't been this healthy in decades.
Now yes I am off track from chatting about tea parties, but I will say this is a prelude to the next blog post that will soon be written.
All I can say is life will throw you lemons but sometimes you need to take those lemons and make lemonade or something more luscious with those lemons. Stay tuned for the next blog post. It will be a doozy.
Until then Stay Healthy and Safe
