The Beauty of Cape Cod
I can say wholeheartedly that I live in one of the prettiest places God ever created. There are so many areas in the world where there is so much destruction that even a skeptic can say this area is pure paradise. In the Spring & Summer months when life is very active with the hustle and bustle of active tourism. Yes, I live in what is typically called a resort area. With the beaches filled with sun worshipers, Family barbeques can be smelled for miles, fishing, clamming, lobstering is commonplace. Traffic jams, fireworks parades for holidays like Memorial Day and the 4th of July.

Acres of Pine Beach for Sunset Church Service
Every year my church does an end of summer Sunset Beach Service. We share our thoughts of what has gone on in our world, see our fellow church members, enjoy the beauty of what God has created, and then to top it off there's the firepit going and we make smores to end a beautiful gathering in a absolutely stunning place. My friend Susan who is truly my best friend who has been there for me through some of my worst times ever was there and I just had to add a pic of her. I don't know what I would do without her.
Fireworks at the beach for Memorial Day
Again, where I live is paradise. So many stunning areas that just take your breath away. Cape Cod, the peninsula where I live is surrounded by water. There are over 100 beaches surrounding some 200 + miles of coastline. Stunningly gorgeous Sunsets and rainbows from the Cape Cod Canal to the Bourne and the Railroad Train Bridge at sunset.
Suffice to say there is beauty all around us. Though every place we visit has certain areas of unfavorable scenery most of what is around us is beautiful.
In the Fall we have cool crisp air and it's a time for leaves turning into watermelon red yellowy gold, and rustic orange. a time for autumn decorations fall inspired beverages (Pumpkin Martini's one of my favorites, and the season would be filled without Turkeys on Thanksgiving trying to crash your holiday feast because you're consuming one of their own, LOL!!!
Autumn on Cape Cod
In the wintertime on Cape Cod there is the hustle of holiday shopping, celebrating birthdays, yes, I am a December baby, Company Christmas Parties and just the joy of seeing friends.
Winter and Christmas
Think for a second about what is coming up next July. It is the 250th birthday of our country. That will be a time to take a boat load of photos. The joyous celebration of our nation. I love everything patriotic so much I have a dedicated room in my house specifically decorated patriotically. I so cannot wait to see the photos from Plymouth, MA. The oldest town in Massachusetts, settles by the pilgrims in 1620. One of the prettiest areas one could visit. Like that, the town of Sandwich, Massachusetts is the oldest town on Cape Cod, settled in 1639, both are fill with spectacular historic photography. The Dexter Grist Mill a historic working mill that grinds cornmeal is one of the most photographed spots, located next to the historic Town Hall whose architecture is just spectacular rich in history. And right next to it which is literally a stone's throw away is Shawme Pond. Also referred to as the duck pond. The town of Sandwich is loaded in history. The Sandwich Glass Museum showcases its rare glass from both the Boston and Sandwich Glass Factory is known for its pressed lead glass and use of color since 1825. The museum celebrated this year its 200th anniversary of glass making. Across the street from the Tow Hall is the Dunbar Tea House which sits on the hill from Shawme Pond. This beautiful house id filled with historic grandeur. John Dillingham one of the founding fathers of Sandwich built his first house in 1650. In 1740 his descendants moved the whole house down the road to the spot it lives still today. In its 250+ years it has had 6 owners. This is one of my favorite places to go when my friends come down to visit. Search Dunbar Tea House and look for images. This place is absolutely stunning.
I am truly blessed to have such beauty around me. I really couldn't ask for anything more than what I have. I am blessed with a wonderful supportive family, truly fabulous friends, and most of all the glorious landscape that this place offers. I did give you a little history lesson but as my mom use to tell me nearly on a daily basis. You never can learn too much, and you will learn something new every day.
I stated in a previous post that I have words for the year. Last year I said my word for the year was accomplishment. And this year I think I said my words for the year would be adventure and creativity. What is your word for the year? I love sharing all things food, gardening, decorating, and traveling all in one place.
I want you to think about how you want to spend next year. What adventure will you take. Will you be creative and do something outside of the box? Go out of your comfort zone. Maybe you will volunteer somewhere. Think about if you want to change anything in your world. Maybe you will start a small garden or learn new recipes. Maybe you will just do one thing that helps another person in ways you never thought you would. Youd be surprised that a small investment in time might just change someone's day or week. Maybe you do something that changes your day, week or life. Lifestyle changes are a wonderful thing. It doesn't have to be dietary. It could be a change in your job, how you dress. You could redecorate or create a space to your home that might be a sanctuary just for you to have a small sense of peace. It takes the smallest changes to make a difference. I want to say I hope everyone has a happy healthy and safe holiday season.
Until then Stay Happy, Stay Safe, and Stay Positive
